About Us

Rooted in Woodbridge.
Committed to you.

Our Community Counseling was founded on a simple conviction: that meaningful healing happens when people feel truly seen — not as cases, but as neighbors.

Located on Hazel Terrace in the heart of Woodbridge, our practice serves individuals, couples, and families across New Haven County. We understand that reaching out for support takes courage, and we honor that by meeting you where you are — with patience, professionalism, and genuine care.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, or a period of transition, our team brings both clinical expertise and community warmth to every session.

What We Offer

Services tailored to your journey

Every person's path is different. We offer a range of therapeutic approaches to meet you where you are.

Individual Therapy

One-on-one sessions in a confidential, supportive environment. We work with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and the everyday struggles that weigh on your mind.

Couples Counseling

Rebuild connection, improve communication, and navigate conflict with guidance. Whether you're in crisis or simply want to deepen your understanding of each other, we're here.

Family Therapy

Families face unique challenges. We help parents, children, and extended family members communicate more openly and find healthier patterns of interaction.

Telehealth Sessions

Therapy from the comfort of your home via secure video. Same compassionate care, flexible scheduling, and no commute — because getting help shouldn't add to your stress.

Crisis Support

When things feel overwhelming, we're here. We offer responsive scheduling for urgent situations and can help you find the right level of care quickly.

Youth & Adolescent

Young people face pressures that didn't exist a generation ago. We provide a safe, non-judgmental space for teens to explore their feelings and build lasting coping skills.

Our Approach

Therapy that feels
human, not clinical.

We believe the most important factor in successful therapy isn't a particular technique — it's the relationship between you and your therapist. That's why we prioritize warmth, authenticity, and trust above all else.

01

Listen First

We start by understanding your story — not fitting you into a framework.

02

Collaborate

You're the expert on your life. We walk alongside you, never ahead of you.

03

Grow at Your Pace

Healing isn't linear. We honor where you are and move forward together.

04

Integrate

We draw from evidence-based approaches tailored to what actually works for you.

Common Questions

Everything you need to know

We work with several major insurance providers and can verify your benefits during a free initial consultation. We also offer sliding-scale fees and out-of-network superbills for those who prefer broader provider choice.

Simply call us at 1203-787-8812 or send an email to ourcommunitycounseling@gmail.com. We'll help you find the right therapist and a time that works for you. First consultations are typically available within a few days.

Your first session is about getting to know each other. Your therapist will ask about your background, what brought you in, and what you hope to get from therapy. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with — we'll go at your pace.

Absolutely. Confidentiality is the foundation of effective therapy. Everything you discuss is protected under federal privacy law (HIPAA). The only exceptions involve imminent safety concerns, which your therapist will explain during your first visit.

Of course — and we encourage you to. The therapist-client relationship is the most important factor in therapy's success. If something doesn't feel right, let us know and we'll help you find someone who's a better match.
